I am surprised that AI has not left a stronger impression on people. Since 2022 you can have hour-long conversations with AI models without ever noticing they are not human (a literal sci-fi scenario until three years ago). And yet the news faded away within a few weeks. Most haven’t even bothered trying it.
I guess we get used to everything. We think we are fascinated by the possibility of alien life, but if aliens landed tomorrow we would get over it in a month.
